How do I get a deferment on my book costs?

Once you have enrolled and turned in your enrollment certification form to the veterans services office, then you are eligible for the deferment. KU Bookstore book payment deferment option contact Samantha Peterson in the Kansas Union by phone at 785-864-4687 or through e-mail at samanthap@ku.edu.

I have questions regarding Tuition assistance for veterans, where can I find more information?

If the information is not found on this site, please direct your tuition assistance questions to the Bursar’s office. Contact Pam Williams at (785)864-5960 and/or Terry Mayne at (785)864-5928 or visit them in Strong Hall Room 21.

I just received orders and must deploy, what do I do?

Contact the VA Certifying official if you are being deployed, regardless of the time during the semester (or prior to the semester beginning) that you are being deployed. We have important information for you regarding your return to the University, your email and other information as well. You do not have to be using the Montgomery GI Bill to utilize this service.

I am a returning deployed student, what do I do to reinstate my college career at KU?

When you are ready to return, email us at kuva@ku.edu and let us know. We will assist you with your return to the University and in most cases you will be readmitted within 48 hours. We will also help put you in contact with an academic advisor, if you are required to meet with one, in order to enroll.

I served/am serving in the National Guard or a Reserve Branch, where can I find further information related to guard and reserves tuition assistance?

Guard members may apply online at www.education.ng.mil
Reserve members may apply online at the US Army WEBS system

If you which to apply for Tutorial Assistance, please contact the Veterans Services Office in 151 Strong Hall (Walk-in's 1-4 M-F) or call 785.864.4423 for an appointment.
