How to order a Transcript
Before Ordering a Transcript
- Note: If you have a financial hold on your student account, you cannot order a transcript. Contact the Bursar's Office at (785) 864-3322 for further information.
- Only a current or former student may order his or her transcript online. Third party inquiries should contact the Office of the University Registrar directly at (785) 864-4423.
- A credit or debit card is required to order a transcript. If you do not have one, contact the Office of the University Registrar.
- If ANY of your coursework at the University of Kansas was taken before 1985, contact the Office of the University Registrar at 785-864-4423 to verify that all academic coursework has been converted to an electronic format.
- If you have requested a name change, contact the Office of the University Registrar to ensure it has been processed prior to ordering your transcript.
- Review the transcript charges associated with ordering a transcript.
Students with a KU Online ID
- To begin the process you will have to log in using your KU online ID. If you have forgotten your password, go to the identity management website and follow the instructions on how to reset it.
- If this is the first time you have ordered a transcript online you will need to create an account. Once you have logged in with your KU Online ID, you will be redirected to a page that looks similar to this. Follow the ordering instructions to complete your transaction.
Students without a KU Online ID
- You may proceed directly to the Online Transcript Identity Verification Process page. You will be redirected and asked to provide identification information along with your transcript order. Note: This does not establish a KU online ID. You will have to re-verify your identity again for any future activity with the university.
- Alternately, students without a KU online ID can request one by following this link to the KU Online ID Account Creation page. Once you have created a KU online ID, you do not have to do so again.
- Signing in without using a KU Online ID requires additional processing by the Office of the University Registrar staff, therefore, your transcript may be delayed by up to three days.
Specific Transcript Ordering Information
Expedited Orders - Same Day Processing
You may choose from a variety of expedited delivery options during the online transcript ordering process. Click on the links below for information about each type of delivery. Same day delivery requests must be placed by 1:00 PM CST (12:00 PM MST), weekdays. No orders will be processed when the Office of the University Registrar is closed.-
Electronic Certified PDF Transcript
- It is the responsibility of the person requesting the transcript to verify that the recipient will accept an Electronic PDF Transcript. If an Electronic PDF Transcript is ordered and the recipient will not accept it, all charges are non-refundable.
- Please review the list of colleges/universities and other organizations who will accept electronically submitted transcripts.
- Shipped by Federal Express
- An official University of Kansas paper transcript is sent by Federal Express. Federal Express guarantees delivery service by 3:00 PM the following business day.
- A Federal Express tracking number will be available for all FedEx orders on the Online Transcript Order page.

USPS First Class Mail
- An official University of Kansas paper transcript is delivered by the United States Postal Service via First Class Mail. Orders will be sent out the same business day when ordered before 1:00 PM CST (12:00 PM MST), and sent out the next business day when ordered after 1:00 PM CST (12:00 PM MST).
- Pick Up in Strong Hall, Room 151 - If you chose to pick up your transcript then determine you want to have it mailed, you will have to reorder the transcript. Additional processing charges will apply.
Regular Processing

Electronic Certified PDF Transcript
