How do I make Changes to my Schedule?
Add/Drop/Change of Section
If you are dropping your only class or all of your classes, you must visit the withdrawal process website.
If you are already enrolled in credit hours and wish to make changes yet still be enrolled, follow the steps listed below.
All students whose first language is not English who have not been cleared by the Applied English Center must visit the Applied English Center before adding or dropping classes. Please go to 204 Lippincott Hall for information.
WARNING: If you have missed the fee payment deadline for your enrollment and have been assessed the non-refundable $100 late payment fee, a hold will be placed on your account and you will not be able to enroll in future semesters or receive a transcript until all charges are paid on your account.
- Obtain Special Permission/Approval Codes if necessary. These courses are identified as Instructor or Department consent in the Schedule of Classes in the Enroll and Pay system. Permission codes are available from the instructor or department (depending upon the type of approval required).
- Check for Class Availability. Class availability may be checked at: www.opensections.ku.edu/, or in the Schedule of Classes in the Enroll and Pay system. If a class is closed but you have permission from the instructor or department to take the class this permission code must be issued by the instructor. (206 Summerfield for Business courses, 201 Stauffer-Flint for Journalism courses).
- If you are an international student in F or J status, do not withdraw from a course that will place you below full time without first meeting with an international student advisor in the Office of International Student and Scholar Services, 2 Strong Hall, 864-3617.
- Check your schedule, assessment and address on the Enroll and Pay system.
- Fees. If you already paid and the changes in your schedule increase your tuition and fees, you will be billed. If changes decrease your assessment, your account will be credited. Tuition and fees are assessed by the credit hour. You may view your account balance and pay on the Enroll and Pay system. See refund/adjustment or tuition and fees for details.

It is your responsibility to provide the University with a current address. If you do not receive a bill you are still required to pay all amounts due on your account by the deadline. Not attending the class doesn't cancel the bill. Not paying the charge does not cancel your enrollment in the added class.
